Better yet, try your best to get any anti-gun person you may know to watch this... we gun-lovers know the truth already, but it could be a game changer for anti-gun people. Too many people rely on what they hear from the mainstream media to form their opinions on guns and gun-ownership. They just accept what they hear, and don't think for themselves. The problem is, most of what the media says about guns is simply untrue.
Mr. LaPierre does a great job breaking down the facts about the relationship between guns and violent crime. Please show this to your politically ambivalent and/or gun-neutral friends. Hopefully it will make them think. And once people start thinking for themselves, amazing things can happen.
A little personal note I'd like to share about my reaction to part of this video: Toward the end of the video, there's a transcript and recording of a real 911 call. A mother and her baby are alone in the house while someone is trying to break into the home. The terrified mother is following the direction of the 911 dispatcher on the phone, but she is essentially defenseless. As I heard her screaming at the intruder as he finally broke into her locked bedroom, my blood boiled with the thought that even with the police on the phone, she was utterly defenseless. If only she had a loaded .45 ACP pistol or a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot, ready to fire at the monster when he burst through the door.... the story would have ended much differently. And there would have been one less thug on the streets.
